    Job Description Summary

    The Community College Leadership Faculty Fellow will serve as a vital link between the LaFetra College of Education (LFCE) and community colleges. This role is dedicated to strengthening LFCE's programmatic collaboration with community colleges, enhancing transfer pathways for undergraduate programs in education, and supporting the recruitment and success of students in the EdD in Organizational Leadership program.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Earned doctorate in Organizational Leadership, Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field.
    • Demonstrated experience in community college administration or leadership.
    • Strong understanding of community college systems, transfer processes, and student support services.
    • Evidence of effective teaching at the postsecondary level, preferably with experience in both community college and university settings.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated commitment to the mission, values, and educational philosophy of the University of La Verne

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in program development and assessment within higher education.
    • Active involvement in relevant professional organizations related to community college leadership and higher education.
    • A record of scholarly publications or presentations focusing on community college education, leadership, or student success.

    Specific Duties

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Programmatic Collaboration with Community Colleges
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with community college administrators and faculty to align curricula and create joint educational initiatives.
    • Coordinate collaborative programs, workshops, and seminars that promote educational excellence and equity.
    1. Enhancement of Transfer Pathways
    • Work with LFCE and community college faculty to streamline transfer processes for undergraduate education programs.
    • Provide resources and guidance to prospective transfer students to facilitate their transition to LFCE.
    1. Support for EdD Program Recruitment and Success
    • Increase Visibility and Build Awareness: Create visibility and build awareness of the EdD in Organizational Leadership program among community college professionals, highlighting the program's benefits and opportunities.
    • Community College Outreach Activities: Conduct outreach activities, including organizing meetings and campus visits, to attract prospective EdD students from the community college sector.
    • Teaching and Mentorship: Teach courses related to organizational leadership, emphasizing community college leadership, and provide students with relevant knowledge and skills.
    • Mentorship: Mentor EdD students, particularly those with backgrounds in community college leadership, offering academic and career guidance.
