Description

Eleven Recruiting is searching for a Factory Simulation Engineer to join a fast-growing advanced manufacturing company building highly automated factories for the aerospace and defense industry. The company combines AI, software, robotics and full-stack manufacturing to produce mission-critical components faster and at lower cost than traditional suppliers. This role sits in Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA, or Phoenix, AZ. Relocation assistance is available.
Summary The Factory Simulation Engineer is a key technical contributor on the factory simulation team within the factory automation organization. This role designs, develops and deploys factory-level simulation systems that drive fast, data-backed decisions across forging, casting, machining, welding and assembly operations. The engineer models changes to existing facilities and builds future-state simulations of new factories from the ground up, working closely with leadership, automation, factory development engineering and operations.
The team is hiring for two complementary profiles: industrial and manufacturing engineers who build factory simulations, and software engineers who build the simulation platform and tools on NVIDIA Omniverse. Candidates from either background are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine low-, mid- and high-fidelity simulations aligned with factory build and optimization goals.
  • Turn ambiguous layout concepts into executable discrete event (DES) and 3D simulations of full factory process and material flow.
  • Model current-state facility changes and greenfield, future-state factories, using data analysis and predictive modeling to guide layout and investment decisions.
  • Build out and extend an Omniverse-based simulation platform, including new modules, extensions and reusable tooling.
  • Build web front ends that let engineering, operations and leadership interact with models and simulation results, connected to factory and production data sources.
  • Deliver clear, actionable simulation insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance the simulation toolchain for long-term scalability and usability.
  • Create and manage a library of parametric, reusable simulation assets.
Required Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience building factory-level simulations (full-facility process and material flow, not only individual robotic cells) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Simulation development experience with NVIDIA Omniverse, Visual Components, Emulate3D, FlexSim, AnyLogic, Arena, Siemens Plant Simulation or similar tools.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, system design and data integration. Python is the primary language.
  • Familiarity with kinematics, discrete event simulation, factory flows and production methodologies.
  • Strong systems thinking, balancing rapid prototyping with sustainable platform design.
  • Self-driven, with a track record of taking initiatives from concept to functional MVP with measurable impact.
  • Ability to communicate technical results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) due to ITAR requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building simulations for new facilities or major factory expansions.
  • Full-stack development experience, including web applications that interface with simulation models and data.
  • Plugin and extension development (Python / C#; C++ a plus) and data modeling.
  • Background in industrial engineering principles, including line balancing, capacity planning and ROI analysis.
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace or other high-complexity manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling platforms (SolidWorks, NX, Blender), Siemens Teamcenter and automated parametric asset creation.
Salary: $120,000 - $190,000
