NIKA is seeking a full-time Facility Security Officer (FSO) to join our corporate team based out of our HQ office in North Bethesda, MD!

Our operations management, engineering, and project management services provide our customers with the value and expertise to ensure operational readiness for complex and mission-critical facilities.

In this role, the FSO will support facility and personnel clearance processing and management, visit certifications, and security education and training. The FSO will need a thorough understanding of security databases such as DISS, eApp, NISS, NBIS, ACCS , SWFT. In addition, they will be responsible for implementing and providing guidance to employees and management on security issues such as security education, insider threat, security investigations, and personnel clearances.

Education/ Required Experience

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • 3+ years of recent FSO experience and Facility Security Officer Certification
  • Thorough knowledge of the government clearance process and of e-Qip, NISS, SWFT, ACCS, NBIS, eApp, DISS required.
  • Bachelor's degree in security management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • The position requires the individual to manage, administer, and coordinate the DOD or other industrial security program and other security activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures.
  • Manage personnel security processes, including clearances, visit requests, and access determinations.
  • Conduct initial, annual, and refresher security training, briefings, and debriefings.
  • Maintain accurate security records, files, and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare for and support DCSA security reviews, audits, and inspections.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with DCSA and provide security guidance to leadership.
  • Ensure timely reporting of adverse information, incidents, and security violations.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure cleared personnel maintain eligibility for access to classified information.
  • They will initiate and administer Clearance Access Cards (CACs) for current and new employees
