Facility Maintenance Service Technician

This position is a hands-on maintenance and repair role supporting commercial and industrial facilities within approximately a 100-mile radius of the company's Columbia, PA office. Technicians typically begin their day at our Columbia, PA location before traveling to customer sites, generally within a 100-mile radius.

We support customers by keeping their facilities, material-handling systems, and equipment operating safely and reliably. We are seeking Service Technicians with experience in commercial or industrial facility maintenance.This position is a hands-on maintenance and repair role supporting commercial and industrial facilities within approximately a 100-mile radius of the company's Columbia, PA office. The technician travels to customer facilities to troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain building systems.The work is primarily mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment maintenance, rather than cleaning or janitorial services.The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a service team. Because technicians represent J&J Companies at customer locations, a professional attitude and strong customer-service skills are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair commercial and industrial facility equipment.Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.Perform basic electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.Maintain and repair loading dock equipment and commercial doors.Service loading dock equipment, including dock levelers, dock doors, restraints, bumpers, and seals.Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems.Perform general facility repairs involving mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and hardware components.Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.Test equipment following repairs to ensure safe operation.Document completed work and communicate repair recommendations to customers.Experience & QualificationsCommercial or industrial facility maintenance experience preferred.General mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or industrial equipment is a plus.Experience with dock, door, conveyor, or material-handling equipment is a plus.General construction skills such as carpentry, drywall, concrete, or demolition are helpful.Welding/fabrication experience is a plus.Ability and willingness to learn and cross-train in multiple areas.High School Diploma or GED required.Trade or technical school experience is a plus.Valid driver's license required.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend repeatedly, and remain on your feet throughout the workday.Technicians typically begin their day at our Columbia, PA location before traveling to customer sites, generally within a 100-mile radius.
