    Description

    The Denver Hospice has an immediate opening for a Facility Lead.

    Location: Denver, CO

    Status: Full-time, Hourly

    Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-5

    Hourly Pay Range: $30.14 - $35.41

    Supplemental Pay:  Based on position, schedule and/or availability: Overtime

    Mileage and Expense Reimbursement: Sixty-two and a half cents per mile

    REWARDING WORK YOU WILL DO:

    As the Facility Lead, you will oversee all facility operations for The Denver Hospice Campus, including the Inpatient Care Center (ICC) and Amy Davis Support Center (ADSC). This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of facilities, building systems, grounds, environmental services, kitchen operations, and vendor-contracted services to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained healthcare environment. The Facility Lead will be responsible for planning, execution, and documentation of preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance programs for all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, utilizing the organization's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to schedule work orders, track asset performance, maintain regulatory documentation, and support lifecycle management of facility infrastructure.

    As the designated Safety Officer, the Facility Lead assists with the development, implementing and monitors safety, emergency preparedness, life-safety, and environmental compliance programs to minimize risk to patients, families, staff, visitors, and organizational assets. This position ensures continuous compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, CMS, OSHA, Life Safety Code, accreditation, and healthcare facility requirements through routine inspections, audits, testing, reporting, and corrective action management. The Facility Lead works closely with and provides oversight to facilities personnel, kitchen staff, contractors, and service providers while serving as the campus subject matter expert for facility operations, regulatory compliance, MEP systems, construction projects, and infrastructure planning. Through proactive management of daily operations and strategic maintenance initiatives, this role ensures reliable building performance, operational continuity, regulatory readiness, and an exceptional experience for all campus occupants.

    FACILITIES OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE:

    • Performs and oversees the operations of facilities maintenance.
    • Directs, supervises, and coordinates duties of Facilities Specialist and kitchen staff.
    • Manages all contract vendor services including daily operations of Environmental Services and waste removal teams.
    • Maintains cleanliness of the TDH campus/ICC & ADSC buildings.
    • Oversees and ensures Emergency Operations Plans currency and compliance.
    • Orders maintenance, kitchen, housekeeping, and laundry supplies as needed.
    • Attends necessary leadership meetings and serves on committees as needed.
    • Remains on call for after-hour emergencies.
    • Provides occasional support to affiliate locations across the Front Range including Aurora, Fort Collins, and Colorado Springs which will require travel with possible overnight stays.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    CORE COMPETENCIES:

    • Supports hospice and palliative care missions and values.
    • Knowledge of maintenance, housekeeping, laundry practices, and regulations.
    • Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
    • Knowledge of inventory management and safety data sheets.
    • Understands Facility MEP operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and energy management.
    • Knowledge or familiarity with CMMS functions.
    • Safe use of equipment, tools, and machinery.
    • Compliance with building codes, Life Safety, and OSHA requirements.
    • Flexible work schedule.
    • Microsoft Word and Outlook proficiency.
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask.

    WHAT WE ARE GOING TO LOVE ABOUT YOU:

    • Minimum Education:    High school degree or equivalent. Certification or degree in Facility Management is a plus.
    • Minimum Experience: Five (5) years of maintenance experience in a health care facility or related industry of facility management. Five (5) years of supervisor experience. Some construction knowledge and/or trades experience. 
    • Required License: Valid Colorado Driver License and proof of insurance.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to lift/carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
