The Facilities & Shop Technician supports Samson Sky
operations and prototype vehicle development by participating in a respectful
and collaborative workplace; maintaining safe, clean, orderly, and operational
facilities and shop areas; caring for tools, equipment, parts, and consumables;
troubleshooting facility, shop, and prototype systems; and assisting
engineering, fabrication, assembly, and R&D testing activities. The
position requires a can-do mindset, adaptability, accurate documentation,
practical problem solving, and consistent attention to safety, cleanliness,
reliability, accuracy, and work quality.

and shop areas in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.

• Conduct routine facility and shop inspections; identify and
address safety, maintenance, cleanliness, and operational deficiencies.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and troubleshoot
or repair mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, lighting, and basic electrical
systems within the employee’s training and authorization.
• Manage maintenance and shop tools, spare parts,
consumables, and inventory; identify replenishment needs and support
procurement or vendor coordination when assigned.
• Set up, operate as authorized, and maintain shop-support
and fabrication equipment such as CNC machines, welders, lifts, and general
fabrication tools.
• Support R&D operations, including test setup, teardown,
equipment staging, workspace readiness, and data collection assistance.
• Work with engineering and fabrication teams to build, test,
evaluate, and refine vehicle systems.
• Assist with prototype assembly, modification, fabrication,
and integration, including structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Complete assigned facility and prototype-build tasks in
accordance with the project plan, drawings, instructions, and safety
requirements.
• Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, equipment,
inventory, prototype-build, and test records.
• Coordinate facility access and provide on-site support for
qualified vendors and service providers.
• Participate in facility and shop improvement projects,
including layout changes, equipment installation, workspace modifications, and
infrastructure upgrades.
• Communicate facility conditions, equipment failures, repair
status, project progress, and operational limitations to affected personnel.
Clean, orderly, safe, and operational facilities and shop
areas maintained with maximum clean/up time and minimum dirty/down time,
together with well-documented and accurate prototype assembly, fabrication, and
testing work completed.
• Percentage of facility and shop “clean/up time” compared
with “dirty/down time.”
• Percentage of facility and build tasks completed on time
measured against the project plan.
• Completion and accuracy of required inspection,
maintenance, equipment, inventory, build, and test records.

• 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, industrial
maintenance, mechanical repair, shop support, vehicle assembly, fabrication, or
a related hands-on role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting
skills.
• Working familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, lighting,
electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and general building systems.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, shop equipment,
and applicable safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, equipment
documentation, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Ability to perform physical work, lift reasonable weight,
climb ladders, and work comfortably at heights when required.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
or collaboratively as priorities evolve.
• Computer literacy, valid driver’s license, and reliable
transportation.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, manufacturing,
prototype fabrication, vehicle assembly, or R&D facilities.
• Electrical or HVAC knowledge.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and
equipment records.
