Facilities Technician II
Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)
Third shift, approximately 11 PM to 7 AM
Monday through Friday
Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 annually
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Technician II to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of facility infrastructure and critical utility systems within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable facility operations, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience working in pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or highly regulated environments and possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility and utility systems.
Maintain and repair facility equipment, lighting, doors, access control systems, security systems, and fire protection systems.
Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities while maintaining accurate documentation.
Develop and update preventive maintenance job plans.
Utilize and support the administration of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC logic for troubleshooting and repairs.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, including motors, breakers, controls, and related equipment.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures.
Support small facility improvement and maintenance projects with minimal supervision.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and OEM technicians to complete maintenance activities and repairs.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, GMP requirements, and company procedures.
Maintain clean, organized maintenance and utility areas.
Assist in training and mentoring junior maintenance personnel.
Support cross-functional teams and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in one or more of the following:
Facilities maintenance
Utilities systems
HVAC
Electrical systems
Industrial equipment
Controls systems
Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment, preferably pharmaceutical or biotechnology.
Working knowledge of facility utilities, HVAC, clean utilities, industrial equipment, and controls systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and PLC logic.
Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, motors, breakers, and controls.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
Basic computer proficiency and understanding of CMMS systems.
Knowledge of GMP and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to pass aseptic gowning qualification requirements and demonstrate aseptic techniques and behaviors.
Additional Requirements
Must be available for occasional after-hours support and on-call responsibilities.
Ability to meet attendance requirements and respond to emergency maintenance situations when required.
Commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant, and reliable facility environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
Working knowledge of clean utilities, purified water systems, WFI systems, and clean steam systems.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial controls.
Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
