Title: Facilities Specialist
Location: West Columbia, SC
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Shift : 1st Shift | 6a till 2:30p | Mon thru Fri
Compensation: $19/hr

Overview:
Perform repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on building and facility equipment, fixtures, and systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Job Duties:
Respond to service calls and perform in-house repairs throughout the facility.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment, systems, and fixtures.
Install office fixtures and perform maintenance across multiple trades, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
Move furniture, materials, and equipment as part of routine assignments.
Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and perform equipment cleaning and breakdowns.
Test faulty equipment, components, and circuits to diagnose malfunctions.
Replace defective parts, wiring, and adjust mechanical systems.
Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment per specifications.
Ensure plumbing, sewer, water, electrical, and mechanical systems remain functional and compliant.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
1+ year of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a related field preferred.
Basic knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills for completing work orders and documenting maintenance activities.
Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
Willingness to learn new skills and receive on-the-job training.
