    Facilities Services Technician Painter I

    About the role

    We are looking for an employee that can be responsible for painting, removing wallpaper, prep and finishing walls and perform basic facilities services duties as required by management and work orders.

    Supervision Received: Reports to Facilities Services Manager.

    Supervision Exercised: None.

    Typical Physical Demands: Requires lifting and moving of heavy items, exposure to heights, crawl spaces, electrical wiring, and plumbing. Requires frequent bending, stooping, or stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a ladder, work on scaffolding, etc.

    Typical Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional work environment with some exposure to adverse weather conditions and work before or after normal operating hours. Travel between Physicians East facilities using a company or personal vehicle is required.

    Responsibilities

    Must be able to work weekends and evenings

    Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler, using caulking gun and putty knife

    Removes fixtures, such as pictures and electric switch covers from walls prior to painting, using screwdriver

    Spreads drop clothes over floors and room furnishings, and covers surfaces, such as baseboards, doorframes ,and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting

    Paints surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers

    Applies paint with rollers, brush, etc.

    Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level

    May wash surfaces prior to painting with mildew remover, using brush

    May hang wallpaper and fabrics

    Examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary

    Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions

    Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix, and apply them

    Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques

    Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns, etc.)

    Experience in painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces while overserving all safety measures

    Conscientious with great attention to detail

    Location & commitments

    Part-time role based at varying locations,

    Work to be completed primarily weekends, and evenings.

    Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner.

    Candidate requirements

    High school diploma or equivalent

    Valid NC Driver's license with a clean driving record

    Proven experience as a painter

    Must have reliable transportation

    Must be able to comprehend and comply with all HIPPA, OSHA, and other local, state, and federal guidelines pertaining to the operations of medical facilities
