Job Description
The Facilities Services Lead is a working lead responsible for coordinating and participating in daily custodial operations, facility inspections, and minor maintenance support and event setup and breakdown. This position provides day-to-day directions and guidance to custodial staff and monitors contracted cleaning services to ensure all City facilities are clean, safe, compliant, and presentable.
This role performs custodial duties alongside staff and provides administrative support, including scheduling, inventory management, documentation, and reporting.

- Lead and work alongside custodial personnel in performing cleaning, sanitation, and facility upkeep duties across City facilities.
- Provide daily work directions, assign tasks, and serve as a resource for custodial staff regarding procedures and standards.
- Monitor contracted custodial and janitorial vendors to ensure service quality and adherence to established standards, report performance concerns to management.
- Conduct routine facility inspections, identify deficiencies, and ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining custodial schedules to ensure adequate facility coverage.
- Manage custodial inventory, order supplies as authorized, and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Prepare and maintain work logs, inspection reports, inventory records, and other departmental documentation.
- Ensure facilities are clean and prepared for meetings, programs, and special events.
- Communicate facility-related needs and concerns to supervisors and other departments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Three (3) years of custodial experience.
Preferred:
- Experience providing work direction or serving in a senior or lead capacity.
- Two (2) years of scheduling, inventory management, or administrative support experience.
- Must pass a DPS fingerprint background check.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in indoor City facilities with occasional travel between locations and requires moderate physical activity. The position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 pounds, as well as operating custodial equipment and using ladders as needed. Duties include exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying indoor conditions, with occasional outdoor exposure.
Visual and hearing ability sufficient for inspections and communication is required. Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
