A service call comes in—an electrical fault on a production support unit—so you isolate the issue, read the schematic, and bring the equipment back online. Midday, you log your work with precise notes and coordinate with operations to plan preventive maintenance without disrupting schedules. Later, a plumbing leak pops up; you respond quickly, stabilize the situation, and work with teammates to implement a lasting repair. Before you wrap, you walk a junior tech through a troubleshooting exercise and swap insights on new best practices you’ve been studying.
What you’ll handle
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior maintenance staff.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance maintenance operations.
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
