CGL delivers planning, design, program management, and maintenance solutions for justice and other public facilities across the U.S. and abroad. Through CGL Facility Management, LLC, we provide end-to-end contract facility maintenance for commercial and public-sector clients.
Day in the life
Each morning, you review incoming requests and CMMS work orders to set priorities. You brief the team, allocate assignments, answer technical questions, and establish quality expectations. As the senior hands-on expert, you spend as much as 80% of your day executing corrective and preventive work—keeping HVAC, electrical, gas, life-safety, and security systems running reliably. Throughout the day, you inspect the facility for safety and operational readiness, coordinate requisitions for tools and parts, and interface with subcontractors to ensure full contract compliance.
When issues arise, you collaborate with the Regional Manager to resolve facility and personnel matters, and you keep both the client and CGL informed on status, staff attendance, and project progress. You maintain OSHA compliance, document all activity in the CMMS, and serve as the primary quality control inspector and technical spokesperson in client meetings. You mentor technicians across trades, uphold a clean and safe work area, and respond to emergencies—including after-hours calls, with appropriate accommodations provided for time and costs.
