Position Overview

The Facilities Manager will oversee facility operations and maintenance activities across multiple large-scale facilities. This role is responsible for managing maintenance teams, ensuring reliable operation of building systems and equipment, maintaining service standards, and supporting strong relationships with customers and vendors.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading commercial facilities operations, managing skilled trades teams, and overseeing mechanical maintenance programs within complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations and maintenance (O&M) activities across multiple facilities, ensuring consistent service delivery and operational excellence.
  • Lead, supervise, and support skilled trades, custodial, and administrative personnel across assigned locations.
  • Train, evaluate, and provide ongoing guidance to facilities team members to promote performance and accountability.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, machinery, equipment, and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, equipment, and maintenance practices to support facility reliability.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) programs while identifying opportunities for predictive maintenance improvements.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate service agreements, and evaluate vendors to ensure quality and cost-effective solutions.
  • Oversee purchasing and management of maintenance supplies, materials, and repair parts for facility equipment.
  • Conduct facility inspections and identify required repairs, replacements, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate utilization and administration of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Communicate regularly with customers and stakeholders regarding operational updates, service requirements, and reporting needs.
  • Prepare and maintain required documentation and reports to support facility performance and contract requirements.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, building automation systems, and computerized maintenance management systems to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; additional education preferred.
  • 5+ years of recent experience managing and supervising commercial building maintenance operations.
  • Experience overseeing maintenance operations for large-scale facilities or multiple buildings totaling 300,000+ square feet preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, building maintenance, equipment operation, and repair practices.
  • Experience managing skilled trades teams and coordinating facility maintenance activities.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), building automation systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high operational standards.
