Facilities Manager

Location Sterling Heights MIFerrous Processing & Trading FPT is one of North Americas premier processors buyers sellers and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry throughout North America. FPT is a wholly owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs and has an immediate opportunity for a Facilities Manager.The Facilities Manager must be self-driven follow instructions well and be a team player. The Facilities Manager must be willing to work nights weekends and holidays if needed. Daily work includes manual labor in an industrial setting including working in the elements outside around heavy equipment and inside industrial locations.Summary of ResponsibilitiesSupervise UAW crane operators and skilled trades personnel while supporting daily operations.Serve as the primary liaison between plant management customers vendors and contractors.Oversee equipment maintenance repairs inspections and preventive maintenance programs.Manage parts inventory procurement purchasing forecasting and vendor administration.Coordinate rail trucking material handling and commodity shipment logistics.Track production contract performance operational metrics and required reporting.Lead safety programs conduct daily safety talks and manage safety equipment needs.Prepare emergency work orders breakdown investigations executive summaries and purchase requests.Direct facility improvement projects oversee workforce timekeepingPTO approvals and provide 247 operational support.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diplomaGEDMust be able to read write and perform basic math.Experience operating mobile equipment preferred.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain accurate records.Ability to follow oral and written communication.Must have basic troubleshooting skillsMust be proficient in using Microsoft OfficePre-employment background physical and hair drug screen requiredFerrous Processing and Trading is a subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
