    Job Summary

    The Facilities Management Specialist is responsible for a wide range of duties within the Facilities Services department. This position will collaborate closely with Maintenance, Security and Custodial Services on special projects. They will partner with the Event Coordinator on the implementation of internal and external events at all campus locations, to include set ups and breakdowns. This role will also work on moving, reconfiguring and purchasing furniture for the college as needed.

    In addition, this role will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all BCTC buildings, including square footage, capacity, furniture condition and utilization. The position will assist with furniture moves throughout the college and make appropriate purchases of new furniture as needed.

    Job Duties:

    Partner with the Event Coordinator on the implementation of college events and rentals, including set ups and breakdowns. Collaborate with Maintenance, Security and Custodial to schedule event coverage as needed.

    Work with the Director of Facilities and Maintenance departments on special furniture projects, including assembling, disassembling and moving furniture as needed.

    Purchase replacement furniture for the college while maintaining an aesthetic standard.

    Issue keys to employees as requested, following the proper policies and procedures.

    Create signage for the college in-house and coordinate with external vendors as needed for larger projects.

    Monitor meeting and event reservations to make sure all necessary Facilities and Operations work orders have been placed and scheduled, and all set-ups have been performed.

    Serve as a reservation manager for the colleges room scheduling software Archibus. Work with reservation requestors to resolve any issues that may arise.

    Assist in annual space inventory audits, checking every room at every campus to ensure our records reflect correct capacities, square footage and room assignments.

    Work as part of the Facilities team to conduct an annual Facilities Assessment Report, where every area of the college is assessed for their aesthetic condition to determine which areas needs repairing or remodeling.

    Offer training and assistance with reservations to college Faculty and Staff.

    Assist with snow removal efforts as needed in the winter.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience or equivalent

    Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment, tools, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. 

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree and four years’ experience or equivalent
