Facilities Maintenance Technician II
Location: Central Massachusetts
Pay: $23–$30 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to support multiple professional facilities throughout Central Massachusetts. This is a great opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional—or a greener candidate with solid hands-on experience who is eager to learn and grow.
The right candidate will be comfortable troubleshooting building systems, completing general repairs, responding to maintenance requests, and keeping facilities safe, functional, and professional. You will travel between multiple locations, so a valid Massachusetts driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance are required.
What You'll Do
Troubleshoot and perform repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Complete preventative maintenance and identify potential building issues before they become problems
Perform general property repairs including painting, drywall, carpentry, flooring, concrete, and minor construction
Repair or troubleshoot locks, doors, closers, lighting, phones, IT cabling, and other facility-related issues
Maintain building interiors, exteriors, grounds, and common areas
Travel between multiple locations to respond to maintenance requests
Use maintenance software to document work, time, repairs, and preventative maintenance
Maintain and monitor inventory, tools, parts, and supplies
Coordinate with and assist in overseeing outside contractors and vendors
Communicate maintenance issues and recommendations clearly to management
Provide professional, courteous service to employees, customers, vendors, and other visitors
Respond to occasional after-hours emergency maintenance needs
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, property maintenance, or a related trade
Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems
Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and a multimeter
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and related documents
Basic computer skills and ability to learn maintenance software
Strong communication skills and a professional customer-service approach
Ability to work independently while also working effectively with a team
Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a clean driving record
Reliable transportation and current auto insurance
High school diploma or equivalent required
HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or other trade certification is a plus—but not required.
We Will Consider Candidates Who Are Still Growing
You do not need to be an expert in every area. Candidates with some relevant hands-on maintenance experience who are dependable, mechanically inclined, coachable, and willing to learn are encouraged to apply.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and regularly stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, and perform hands-on maintenance work. The position also requires driving between locations for up to approximately one hour at a time.
