Full-Time | Wednesday- Saturday, 630a- 5pm

POSITION DETAILS

Location: Olathe Medical Center / The University of Kansas Health System

20333 W. 151st Street, Olathe, KS 66061

Schedule: Wednesday- Saturday; 630a- 5pm

This position also participates in a paid rotating on-call schedule with other members of the maintenance team, typically every 3-4 weeks.

COMPENSATION

Pay is determined by experience, technical knowledge and job level.

Skilled / Level IV: Up to $32.50 per hour

Candidates should have solid MEP, plumbing, HVAC and/or refrigeration experience.

Level II / III: Approximately $27.00-$30.00 per hour

Typically 2-5+ years of general facilities or maintenance experience.

Entry Level / Level I: Starting around $25.00 per hour

Candidates with basic maintenance knowledge, mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn are encouraged to apply.

PLUS - $1,500 HIRING BONUS!

Newly hired Facilities Maintenance Technicians are eligible for:

• $500 after the first month of service
• $500 after the second month of service • $500 after the third month of service

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This is not a position where every day looks exactly the same. As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you'll help keep critical hospital facilities and building systems operating safely and efficiently.

Depending on your experience level, your work may include:

• Troubleshooting and repairing facility systems and equipment • Performing preventive and on-demand maintenance • Working with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration and mechanical systems • Responding to maintenance requests throughout the facility • Identifying problems and helping determine practical solutions • Ensuring equipment and facility systems meet applicable safety requirements • Maintaining a clean, safe and organized work area • Working independently while also partnering with the broader facilities team

Requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in solving problems and can be counted on when something needs to get done. Ideal candidates will have:

• A dependable, positive and team-oriented attitude • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability • Previous construction, mechanical, electrical or plumbing experience is a plus • Commercial or facilities maintenance experience is highly valued • OSHA 10 certification is a plus, but not required • Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds and work in crawlspaces and varying indoor/outdoor temperatures • Ability to read and understand safety procedures, operating instructions and maintenance manuals • Comfort using computers and basic workplace technology • Ability to communicate effectively in English • Valid, unexpired driver's license in good standing and reliable transportation
