Under general supervision from the Facilities Maintenance Superintendent, this position leads and supervises a maintenance team responsible for the maintenance and repair of city buildings and infrastructure. This is accomplished by establishing and assessing work priorities and adjusting schedules as needed to meet maintenance objectives. This position also monitors the safety practices of assigned staff and conducts evaluations and training when necessary.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree;
  • Three (3) years of related work experience;
  • HVAC or Master Electrician License;
  • Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience; and
  • Valid Class B Driver's License with good driving record.
  • Position may require work both at night and on weekends for special events or activities.

Vacation

Non-civil service employees accrue 6.67 hours per month (2 weeks per year).

All police employees accrue 10 hours per month (3 weeks per year).

All Fire employees accrue 15 hours per month (7.5 - 24 hour shifts a year).

Sick Leave

Non-civil service employees accrue 10 hours per month (3 weeks per year).

All police employees accrue 10 hours per month (3 weeks per year).

Holidays

Non-civil service employees receive 13 paid holidays per year including one personal or "floating" day.

Longevity Pay

Earned at a rate of $4 per month.

This is calculated on number of years of service up to and including 25 years (maximum $1200).

Eligible for Education/Certification pay.
