Facilities Maintenance Specialist

1st Advantage Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a full-time Facilities Maintenance Specialist to support our Facilities Department. Scheduled hours will be 40 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturdays as needed.

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will provide general maintenance to the Credit Union''s facilities as assigned by the Facilities Manager. Oversees facilities projects, provides guidance to facilities team members, subcontractors and small building projects.

Facilities Maintenance Specialist Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs to ensure facilities are kept in accordance with 1A standards of safety, cleanliness, and aesthetic appeal. Complete work orders in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Assist with mail/package distribution as directed.
  • Sets up and breaks down for special events according to guidelines provided. Transport, relocate and maintain generators and ATM machines according to specific schedules and requests.
  • Reconfigures, moves, alters and orders Tecknion wall systems and office furniture systems according to current 1A needs. Constructs, builds and reconfigures items or spaces according to specified guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • To ensure a safe working environment is maintained for all colleagues and members.
  • To ensure the issues or items specified in Help Desk requests are correct, complete and timely.

  • Uphold 1A image standards by maintaining a professional and business-like work environment.
  • To develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to facilities management by monitoring the age and wear of existing equipment and building structures.
  • To complete all projects in a timely, creative, and effective manner; keeping manger informed of critical areas.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Knowledge of maintenance produces to include basic understanding of blueprints and the operation of electrical, mechanical, heating, cooling and plumbing equipment. Valid and current driver''s license. Bondable.

Education High school graduate or equivalent.

Interpersonal Skills Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Able to coordinate well with others in a professional manner.

Other Skills Able to operate drills, electrical tools, meters, timers, hand tools and all related machinery.

Physical Requirements

Talking - Effective verbal communication to convey and acknowledge receiving detailed or important instructions, accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Average Hearing - Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information to communicate effectively.

Finger Dexterity - Using primarily just fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up objects and cables, or pinching fingers together to use equipment.

Repetitive Motion - Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Visual Abilities - Visual acuity necessary to read small print, read printed and electronic instructions, read email and computer screens, and operate machinery. Able to distinguish between various lights and colors.

Physical Strength - Lifting and carry equipment, ladders, and office machines to facilitate maintenance and infrastructure. Sitting at a desk or workstation during work hours. Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and required to lift up to 50 lbs. Good physical health and fitness level to allow for occasional lifting, climbing, and manual labor

Ability To Operate a Motor Vehicle - Ability to operate a motor vehicle (including a truck or van) with no restrictions. Employee must maintain a valid active license and insurance policy.

Reaching and Stretching - Reaching and stretching, above and below the shoulders, able to connect wiring, cables, and work at heights and outside.

Bending - Bending, stooping, squatting, and able to reach hardware components, cables, and other infrastructure elements in confined spaces. Able to work on the floor and on a ladder.

Work Environment Standard office work environment.
