    Facilities Maintenance Specialist I

    Help build a healthier future for children in Central Florida.

    At Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida, every role contributes to the health and well-being of the Orlando community. As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist I, you will help maintain a safe, dependable, and welcoming environment where children receive care, families find support, and associates serve our growing community.

    Responsibilities

    • Complete preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance work orders.
    • Troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and structural issues.
    • Perform minor carpentry, painting, and wall repairs.
    • Inspect and maintain facility equipment and emergency systems.
    • Support fire, life-safety, and regulatory compliance activities.
    • Maintain safe work areas and collaborate with facilities team members.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma required.
    • Less than one year of relevant experience.
    • Basic Life Support certification required.
    • Basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety knowledge.
    • Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, perform physical work, and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds.
    • Ability to work 2nd shift, Monday - Friday and other times as needed.
