    Tec Centro York is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Instructor to provide hands-on skilled trades training to adult learners at our York, Pennsylvania training center.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facilities maintenance professional, technician, tradesperson, or supervisor who enjoys teaching others and wants to use their industry experience to help people build successful careers.

    This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based entirely at the York location.

    What You’ll Teach

    You’ll provide a combination of classroom and hands-on instruction covering core facilities maintenance skills, including:

    • HVAC fundamentals
    • Basic electrical systems and troubleshooting
    • Plumbing and repairs
    • Carpentry and general building maintenance
    • Painting and finishing
    • Hand and power tool use
    • Preventive maintenance
    • Workplace and OSHA-related safety practices
    • Employability skills and professional workplace practices

    What You’ll Do

    • Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on technical instruction.
    • Demonstrate proper maintenance procedures, tool use, PPE, and safe work practices.
    • Develop practical exercises, instructional materials, and student assessments.
    • Monitor student progress and provide coaching, feedback, tutoring, and remediation when needed.
    • Maintain a safe, organized classroom and training lab.
    • Help students develop teamwork, punctuality, problem-solving, and other employability skills.
    • Maintain attendance, grades, training, supply, and student progress records.
    • Assist with curriculum updates as industry standards and technologies evolve.
    • Work with program staff to support student retention and career success.
    • Develop relationships with employers and industry partners to support site visits and employment opportunities.
    • Participate in student recruitment and promotion of Tec Centro training programs.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • At least 4 years of hands-on facilities maintenance or related skilled trades experience.
    • Working knowledge of multiple building maintenance areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or general repairs.
    • Strong understanding of workplace safety, tools, equipment, and proper maintenance practices.
    • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and patiently.
    • Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and instructional purposes.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Journeyman-level training, technical school, apprenticeship, or other post-secondary education.
    • Relevant trade licenses or professional certifications.
    • Previous teaching, training, supervision, or mentoring experience.
    • Experience working with adult or non-traditional learners.
