Student worker to assist Facilities Department with maintaining landscape and planters on campus

• Students must be enrolled in AT LEAST 6 credit hours to qualify for FWS Program

This is a part-time opportunity. Students may work up to 15 hours per week, depending on their unmet need on their FASFA.*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Care and maintain garden beds and planters on campus
• Weed beds and planters on a routine basis
• Fertilize, prune, mulch, etc. as needed
• Sow grass
• Follow Safety Guidelines and Protocols
• Being able to work with Multiple Supervisors
• Assist with the construction/implementation of future grounds/landscape changes

General Qualifications

• Student must be punctualand have a knowledge of plants and plant care

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work independently or as a team
• Trustworthy
• Interpersonal Skills
• Ability to work in outside elements
• Ability to use garden tools and equipment (rake, shovel, edger, weed eater)

Preferred Qualifications

• Horticulture background
• Understanding of Grounds Safety Guidelines and Procedures
• Understanding of how to use grounds equipment such as tractors, pressure washer, edger's, etc.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Stand for long periods of time
• Lift heavy objects
• Walk long distances
• Bending for long periods
• Working in the elements

Work Environment

• Facilities Department
• Pay is $16.00/hr.
