Inpria Corporation is seeking a Facilities & Equipment Engineering Specialist to support facilities, production equipment, and maintenance activities at our Corvallis manufacturing site. This position will own smaller projects and technical work that crosses the boundary between routine maintenance and engineering, including contractor coordination, field verification, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and system improvement.
The ideal candidate is self-starting, hands-on, organized, and comfortable working through problems that are not yet fully defined. This position will work closely with facilities, equipment engineering, maintenance technicians, contractors, and internal stakeholders to develop practical solutions and drive work through completion.
- Own routine and small-scale facilities and equipment projects from initial request through planning, execution, documentation, and closeout.
- Support contractor work coordination from initial site orientation and field verification through construction, testing, commissioning, and closeout.
- Develop scopes of work, budgetary proposals, and execution plans for contractor projects, including utility connections, equipment modifications, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Collaborate across internal and external teams to resolve open items, maintain alignment, improve cross-department workflows, and keep projects moving through completion.
- Plan and communicate work schedules, shutdowns, outages, system impacts, and project status to affected stakeholders.
- Receive and evaluate facilities and equipment work requests from internal teams; clarify scope, determine the appropriate path forward, create or route work orders when applicable, and follow work through resolution.
- Support equipment troubleshooting and reliability improvements to minimize downtime in an active production environment.
- Implement practical improvements to facility systems and development and production equipment, including mechanical, utility, controls, and safety systems.
- Develop prototypes, proof-of-concept assemblies, and benchtop test setups; plan and execute structured tests, collect and analyze data, document results, and recommend next steps in collaboration with facilities and equipment engineers.
- Create and maintain procedures, work instructions, equipment records, drawings, bills of materials, field documentation, and other technical information for new and existing systems.
- Improve maintenance procedures to maximize repeatability, consistency and efficiency, and revise established activities to follow maintenance program policies
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Three or more years of experience supporting industrial facilities, manufacturing equipment, laboratory systems, construction, maintenance, commissioning, or a related technical environment. A combination of education in engineering technology (mechanical, chemical, electrical, controls, or facilities) or a related technical field and experience will be considered.
- Ability to independently organize and drive technical projects through completion.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot physical equipment or building systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, specifications, operating data, and field conditions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate schedules, status, risks, outages, and operational impacts.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate multiple active workstreams.
- Comfortable working directly with technicians, engineers, contractors, vendors, and internal customers.
- Ability to work safely around industrial equipment, utilities, chemicals, and active construction or maintenance activities.
- Ability to follow company policies for safe work, chemical hygiene, change management, and quality requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in semiconductor, chemical, pharmaceutical, laboratory, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience coordinating contractors or developing scopes of work and budgetary estimates.
- Familiarity with CMMS/work-order systems, CAD or drawing-review software, building automation systems, data-analysis tools, or project-scheduling software.
- Experience with equipment installation, utility hookups, commissioning, qualification, or change-control processes.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance, calibration, lockout/tagout, process utilities, controls, or reliability programs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to wear standard cleanroom attire in areas that require it.
- Ability to wear standard PPE in areas that require it.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to use a keyboard and mouse for computer data entry and/or analysis, and
- presenting data.
- Domestic and International travel estimated <10%.
- Occasional nights or weekends may be required due to meetings and production operations support needs.
