CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Facilities Engineer III, to support critical computer room and technology infrastructure within a manufacturing environment. This role will focus on electrical load planning, UPS and battery systems, rack layouts, power distribution, facility capacity, resiliency, and critical infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience supporting data centers, computer rooms, critical facilities, electrical infrastructure, or similar environments, with strong knowledge of UPS systems, electrical distribution, generators, rack design, and facilities readiness. Type: Contract Job Title: Facilities Engineer III Location: Charlotte, NC Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Charlotte, NC Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Facilities Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain IT electrical load plans, including kW/rack, amperage, phases, A/B feeds, redundancy, and future capacity. Coordinate with electrical and facilities teams on panels, circuits, breakers, power capacity, and facility expansions. Engineer and maintain UPS and battery backup systems, including sizing, runtime, monitoring, testing, maintenance, and replacement planning. Troubleshoot UPS, battery, and critical power issues and develop corrective action plans. Create and maintain rack elevations, computer room layouts, and as-built documentation. Validate power, thermal, weight, space, cable routing, and service-access requirements. Support technology modernization and resiliency projects by identifying and resolving power, rack space, connectivity, and facility capacity constraints. Develop and maintain SOPs/MOPs for electrical work, UPS maintenance, rack moves/adds/changes, and room upgrades. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation planning for critical power events. Provide QA/QC oversight of contractors working on critical computer room infrastructure. Manage UPS, battery, electrical, monitoring, and facilities vendors. Coordinate quotes, SOWs, installations, schedules, and infrastructure upgrades. Collaborate with maintenance teams on generators, ATS/STS equipment, and critical power testing. Manage and administer the StruxureWare DCIM platform. Travel up to 10%, including domestic and international travel. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in critical facilities, data centers, computer rooms, electrical infrastructure, or related environments. Hands-on experience with UPS systems, battery technologies, electrical distribution, and critical power infrastructure. Experience with generators, ATS/STS systems, and mission-critical electrical systems. Experience creating rack elevations, facility layouts, and capacity models. Knowledge of electrical load planning, power redundancy, and facility capacity management. Familiarity with data center reliability and tiering concepts. Experience with DCIM platforms; StruxureWare experience preferred. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with IT, engineering, facilities, maintenance teams, vendors, and contractors. Additional Information No third party resumes will be accepted.
