    Position Summary

    The Facilities Engineer is responsible for managing facility-related contracts, capital improvement projects, vendor performance, and operational support services across Mopar distribution facilities. This role develops scopes of work, evaluates contractor proposals and estimates, manages budgets, creates purchase requisitions within PentaSAP, and ensures the successful execution of facility and infrastructure projects.

    The Facilities Engineer serves as the primary liaison between facility operations, contractors, service providers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure facilities are maintained safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

    Key Responsibilities

    Contract & Vendor Management

    • Administer and manage facility service contracts, including review and approval of out-of-scope work.
    • Manage vendors supporting:
      • Landscaping & Snow Removal
      • Janitorial Services
      • Facility Maintenance
      • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Rentals
      • Scale Calibrations
      • Uniform Services
    • Solicit, evaluate, and recommend vendor proposals and competitive bids.
    • Review contractor pricing, estimates, and scopes of work.
    • Monitor contractor performance against established service level agreements.
    • Coordinate regional construction contractors and specialty service providers.
    • Support contract renewals, vendor scorecards, and performance reviews.

    Procurement & Budget Management

    • Create and manage purchase requisitions and service requests in PentaSAP.
    • Track operating expenses (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX) against approved budgets.
    • Review contractor invoices and verify completed work prior to payment approval.
    • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, accrual reporting, and expense planning.
    • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational effectiveness.

    Capital Project Management

    • Support planning and execution of facility capital improvement projects.
    • Coordinate facility renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and building improvements.
    • Manage project budgets, contractor schedules, and project closeout activities.
    • Participate in project meetings with contractors and stakeholders.
    • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

    Facility Operations Support

    • Support daily facility operations across Mopar locations.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for building-related issues and service requests.
    • Coordinate emergency repairs and facility service interruptions.
    • Monitor facility conditions and recommend operational improvements.
    • Support maintenance and reliability initiatives.
    • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Corporate Facilities teams.

    Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure contractor compliance with corporate safety policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Support OSHA compliance, facility audits, and safety inspections.
    • Participate in risk assessments and corrective action implementation.
    • Promote a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
    • Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives to maintain regulatory compliance.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related field; or equivalent experience.
    • 3-5 years of experience in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Project Management, or Contractor Administration.
    • Experience reviewing contractor proposals, estimates, and bid packages.
    • Experience managing service contracts and vendor relationships.
    • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control practices.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with SAP / PentaSAP procurement systems.
    • Experience in warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, automotive, or logistics environments.
    • Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
    • Experience managing capital budgets and construction projects.
    • PMP Certification or equivalent project management experience.
    • Experience with contractor negotiations, bid packages, and service contracts.
    • Experience supporting distribution center or logistics facility operations.
