Facilities and Plant Maintenance Technician II
 
Overall Summary of Job
 
  • Preventative and routine maintenance of the primary and support equipment and facilities used to repair and manufacture products.
  • Manage projects used for process improvement, development and shop support.
 
Essential Functions
  • Performs preventive maintenance on CNC and manual machining equipment ( lathes , mills and grinders ) , plunge and wire EDM , vacuum/atmosphere furnaces , thermal spray equipment and various other plant machinery and equipment.
  • Performs electrical maintenance, repair work, and troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Installs equipment for new electrical services (120v, 240v, and 480v three phase), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contactors, relays, times and controls for various plant machinery.
  • Operates a variety of standard power tools and equipment.
  • Maintains records and logs, as needed.
  • Guidance and direction will come from experienced maintenance Leads. Performs related duties as needed or assigned.

Minimum   Qualifications:
 
  • Graduation from high school , Military or  Technical School and three years of experience minimum  in a variety of trades or construction work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical codes, practices, tools, and equipment associated with electrical and production plant machinery.  
  • Considerable knowledge of and ability to use standard hand and power tools and equipment (used in maintenance activities).
  • Considerable knowledge and application of safety standards and precautions pertaining to electrical work.  
  • Ability to work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Ability to use ladders, scaffolding, and operate hand and power tools in a safe, efficient manner. 
  • Considerable knowledge of electrical codes, practices, and techniques. 
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others. Excellent work history and attendance record.
