Our client is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. As a key supplier to the growing mining industry, we are seeking skilled steel fabrication professionals for long-term employment. This is a permanent position, not a temporary assignment.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Fabricator/Welder with exceptional attention to detail and a strong understanding of the steel fabrication process. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently, interpreting complex fabrication drawings, and producing high-quality weldments with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of steel fabrication, fitting, and welding experience
- MIG welding experience required
- Ability to weld material thicknesses ranging from 20 gauge to 1-1/2 inches
- Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints, fabrication drawings, and sketches
- Experience fitting and welding complex fabrications
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with overhead cranes
- Comfortable with rigging and material handling procedures
- Must have basic fabrication tools
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Machining experience is a plus
- Experience with large, complex fabrications
- Ability to work effectively as part of an experienced fabrication team
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Fit and weld fabricated steel components according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Perform MIG welding on a variety of material thicknesses
- Operate fabrication equipment, including:
- Saws
- Plasma tables
- Iron workers
- Press brakes
- Robotic equipment
- Drilling equipment
- Assist with saw cutting, shearing, braking, grinding, and other shop duties as needed
- Safely operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment
- Maintain high-quality workmanship while following all safety procedures
- Complete assigned work with minimal supervision
