Fabrication Technician 1

Advanced Process Solutions LLC (APS) is a precision semiconductor manufacturer specializing in UHP plastic fluid handling systems, chemical delivery cabinets, and custom thermoplastic assemblies for the semiconductor and industrial process industries. The Fabrication Technician 1 is responsible for the fabrication of industrial-grade plastic cabinets and enclosures using thermoplastic welding techniques, including extrusion welding, hot air welding, butt fusion welding, and orbital welding; on materials such as PFA, PTFE, PVDF, polypropylene (PP), and HDPE. Some prior fabrication or welding experience is preferred, but APS provides hands-on training for the right candidate. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plastic Welding & Fabrication: Set up, operate, and maintain extrusion welders, hot air welders, butt fusion welders, and orbital welding systems; fabricate plastic cabinets and assemblies in PFA, PTFE, PVDF, PP, and HDPE to strict dimensional and structural standards
• CNC Operation: Operate CNC routing machinery for precision plastic sheet cutting and component preparation
• Production Reporting: Provide real-time production updates to the Fabrication Manager to track project throughput and on-time delivery
• Quality & Inspection: Conduct visual and dimensional inspection of all completed assemblies to ensure all units meet APS structural and cleanliness standards
• Workflow Flexibility: Maintain cross-functional skills to fill any role on the production floor, from material preparation through final structural testing and shipping
• Schedule Management: Follow work order sequencing and material flow direction from your supervisor to ensure all delivery deadlines are met
• Team Support: Work alongside senior fabricators and take direction well; willingness to learn and take on new tasks as skills develop

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lifting: Frequently lift and maneuver materials and polymer sheets up to 50 lbs
• Standing / Bending: Must be able to stand for prolonged periods; frequent bending, reaching, and high manual dexterity required
• Pushing & Pulling: Push and pull material carts, boxes, and completed assemblies across the production floor
• Environment: Active fabrication environment with heat from welding equipment; full PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, face shield)

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Experience: Some prior experience in fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or a hands-on trade is preferred but not required. APS provides full on-the-job training for candidates who demonstrate the right attitude and mechanical aptitude
• Welding: Any exposure to welding processes, plastic or metal, extrusion, hot air, MIG, TIG, or otherwise is a plus. Willingness to learn thermoplastic welding techniques including butt fusion, hot air rod, and extrusion welding is required
• Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable working with tools, machinery, and equipment in a production environment; able to follow instructions precisely and produce consistent, quality work
• Materials: Basic familiarity with plastics or industrial materials is a plus; APS will train on specific materials including PFA, PTFE, PVDF, polypropylene, and HDPE
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read or learn to read basic engineering drawings and work orders; prior experience is a plus but not required
• Attitude: Dependable, punctual, takes pride in their work, and eager to grow within the company, this matters as much as experience
• Education: High school diploma or GED required; vocational/technical training, trade school coursework, or any hands-on manufacturing background is a plus
