Shift: 1st (6:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Thursday, 10 hours)
Job description: To coordinate production and shipping schedules to meet customer demands.
Summary of Major Responsibilities/Duties:
Studies shop schedule and communicates with project managers and piping superintendent to determine shipping priorities and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules
Oversees outgoing shipping activates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Processes stop work orders
Controls drawings from Engineering to shop
Dispatches Loads
Puts packing list for each load together
Secures quotes for freight and shipping and determines which carrier to use
Works with a variety of shipping companies ensuring Team is getting the best deal and timely pickup and delivery
Determines legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.
Inspects work in progress to verify that work is being done to customer shipping requirements.
Looks for improved methods and efficiency gains.
Maintains shop men list and prepares schedule for meetings.
Confers with other supervisors (including nights) to insure products flow smoothly between departments.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
Perform job duties of the assistant when that person is not in the office.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Conducts work safely and follows all safety procedures. Rejects work that is not safe and discusses the situation with supervisor.
Order and stock consumables, administer tool crib software.
Minimum Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities Required:
High School Diploma: or one to two years related experience and/or training; (Team experience or experience in planning)
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to effectively
present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percent, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to problem solve and accurately evaluate information.
