Job Summary
The Fabric Cutter accurately measures, cuts, inspects, and prepares high-end luxury textiles for shipment. This role ensures all customer orders meet Thibaut’s premium quality standards while maintaining high production efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, basic digital literacy for inventory tracking, and thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Precision Cutting: Measure and cut luxury fabric rolls precisely according to specific customer order tickets.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect textiles thoroughly for flaws, stains, color variations, or weaving defects before cutting.
- Inventory Control: Update digital inventory systems (e.g., Infor) to accurately track stock levels and material usage.
- Order Fulfillment: Pack, label, and securely prepare finished cut orders for daily outgoing shipment.
- Machine Operation: Perform basic equipment setup, alignment checks, and routine safety inspections on cutting tools.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the cutting station clean, organized, and free of hazardous debris.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED).
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in fabric cutting, textile manufacturing, or warehouse fulfillment preferred.
- Skills: Strong basic math skills and proficiency in reading a tape measure down to fractions of an inch.
- Technology: Basic computer literacy with the ability to learn internal inventory management software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver fabric rolls weighing up to 50 pounds frequently.
