The Food & Beverage Assistant Manager, Pool & In-Room Dining (IRD) supports the daily operation, service execution, team performance, and guest experience for El Encanto's Pool and In-Room Dining operations. This hands-on leadership role helps ensure that both areas are properly prepared, staffed, and supported throughout each service period while maintaining consistent and personalized luxury hospitality. Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, Pool & IRD, Culinary leadership, and hotel departments, the Assistant Manager provides floor supervision, team direction, service recovery, shift coordination, and operational follow-through. The position requires strong communication, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to move between Pool and IRD priorities based on guest demand and business needs. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Pool & In-Room Dining Service Operations - Support daily Pool and In-Room Dining operations, ensuring attentive, personalized, and efficient service.
- Maintain an active floor presence, supporting the team and overseeing service execution, order accuracy, presentation, delivery, and guest follow-up.
- Monitor service pacing, guest requests, cleanliness, and operational readiness, addressing concerns and supporting service recovery as needed.
- Engage with guests, recognize preferences, and coordinate with Culinary and hotel departments to deliver a seamless resort experience.
- Maintain strong knowledge of menus, beverages, dietary accommodations, resort offerings, and property activities.
Team Supervision, Training & Service Standards - Provide daily direction and support to Pool and IRD team members, reinforcing consistent service standards and efficient operations.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and communicate VIPs, business levels, special requests, menu updates, and daily priorities.
- Support onboarding, training, coaching, scheduling, and team development while communicating staffing or performance concerns to Food & Beverage leadership.
- Coordinate daily assignments, service areas, side work, and opening and closing responsibilities.
- Reinforce El Encanto's service, grooming, sanitation, safety, responsible alcohol service, and professional conduct standards.
Administrative, Financial & Operational Support - Assist with monitoring revenue, labor, overtime, inventory, operating supplies, and other Pool and IRD performance measures.
- Support inventory controls and ensure guest charges, service charges, discounts, voids, and point-of-sale transactions are handled accurately.
- Maintain accurate shift notes, guest recovery details, incident documentation, checklists, and other operational records.
- Communicate important guest, team, safety, and operational matters to Food & Beverage leadership.
- Support special events, seasonal programming, and resort activations while identifying opportunities to improve service, efficiency, and the overall guest experience.
