    Extruder Operator/ 1st shift
     Asheboro Area

    Job Summary:   The Extruder Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the entire extruding machine, which includes. Determining proper material inputs per specification, set-up of machine to run proper heat profiles, machine speeds, monitoring of running parameters, and correctly adjusting settings, as needed.
     
     
    Essential Duties & Responsibilities
    1. Locate materials that will be used and load into hopper to keep machine running.
    2. Responsible for picking up purge materials and depositing them in boxes or gaylords.
    3. Responsible for keeping the Extruder area clean and emptying trash cans when full.
    4. Help the Maintenance Team and Supervisor with machine service or PM’s when needed.
    5. Responsible for removing boxes from the scales when they are full and putting a new, empty, clean one with a liner on the scale and record the weight on the production sheet.
    6. Help trace machine productivity, monitor machine for downtime and assist Maintenance Team in troubleshooting.
    7. Responsible for filling out the traceability form at the end of the shift every day.
    8. Take instruction from the Supervisor or Wellmark Managers.
    9. Clean and visually inspect the machine at the beginning of his/her shift.
    10. Set up machine to run different products - Heat profiles, pressure settings, extruder speed, pelletizer speed, and water flow.
