Duties

• Assist students with special needs throughout the day with academics and daily school routine.
• Will assist the student in following a strict schedule and maintaining his/her safety while school is in session.
• Assist the teacher with miscellaneous classroom tasks related to the individual student.
• Will aid the student and teacher to ensure success of the student in meeting his/her IEP goals.
• Escorts students to mainstream class and remains with students - for an inclusion relationship.
• Escorts students to all classes, lunch, P.E., library, etc.
• Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and their families and other employees outside the school as expected of fully licensed teachers
• Applicants must be physically able to assist students throughout the building.
• Experience with special needs children preferred.
• Good written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents and students
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Excellent communication (written/verbal) skills, make decisions, resolve conflict, and effectively work with staff, students, and administration.

High School Diploma

Must pass all background checks required by law and board policy

Salary/Benefits

$15.00 per hour
