    High School Director of Debate - (In-Person & Virtual) Director of Debate - Responsibilities include:

    • Responsible for the overall coordination of the debate program and its coaching staff. In his or her role overseeing the program, the advisor will meet regularly with the coaching staff and student officers to ensure that all aspects of the program are coordinated. Additionally, the advisor's responsibilities include planning and seeking approval of the debate schedule, communicating with parents and community members about the needs and success of the team, and recruiting chaperones, judges, and parent volunteers. Weekly responsibilities include entering NFL points, writing press releases, and ensuring a collaborative teaching model is maintained.
    • Responsible for all travel arrangements for the team. This includes rental cars, busses and air travel. Additionally, he or she is responsible for making hotel and housing arrangements for overnight trips. The coordinator is responsible for ensuring that parents are notified about all arrangements. If the travel coordinator is not traveling with the team, he or she will be accessible by phone while coaches and students are traveling. If unavailable, he or she will find another member of the coaching staff to be on-call.
    • Responsible for overseeing the program's annual budget and fundraising efforts. This includes making deposits, paying program expenses and regularly updating the coaching staff and the school principal. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for handling the program's direct mail campaign and other fundraising efforts in order to raise $30,000 to supplement the school's annual contribution to the program.
    • Responsible for organizing the team's two home tournaments. This includes reserving the building, creating and distributing the tournament invitation, registering participants for the tournament and housing, coordinating the tabulation room, publishing tournament results, and overseeing student and staff participants.
