    Schedule/Hours: Part-time - 2 days a week / 5 hours per week.

    This position is responsible for:

    Instructs students participating in homeschool programs that enhance homeschool curriculum or are extracurricular in nature (science, cooking, foreign language, etc.); plans, prepares and presents classroom material to students; maintains the learning environment and supplies; establishes a positive and ongoing relationship with children, parents and peers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Instructs students in subjects that enhance the homeschool curriculum (i.e. science, foreign language) ensuring goals of the program are met; provides each student instruction for their individual needs.
    • Prepares and implements extracurricular activities on an assigned topic based on programmatic goals and objectives identified in conjunction with the supervisor.
    • Develops creative and well-planned lessons that are appropriate for the age group of children in his/her care and according to a predetermined schedule; ensures activities are developmentally appropriate; ensures that RJKCCC standards are maintained in all aspects of classroom planning and function.
    • Maintains an orderly physical environment conducive to the children's safety, growth, and development; ensures that supplies and equipment being used are in good repair and easily accessible to the children; trains children in all emergency procedures.

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

    • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
    • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
    • Ability to exemplify emotional maturity, stability, and dependability.
    • Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light
    • objects (less than 25 lbs.).
    • Work is performed in a normal community center environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
    • Bachelor's degree in elementary education or related field AND
    • two years of experience performing and/or leading the assigned topic, with some amount of fluency in one or more foreign languages OR
    • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

    Licenses and Certifications:

    • First Aide Certification
