Your Role

Akkodis is seeking an Exterior Systems Design & Release Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate drives the design, development, validation, and release of exterior vehicle systems while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Rate Range: $40/Hour to $42/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Exterior Systems Design & Release Engineer Responsibilities include:

• Lead the design, development, validation, and release of exterior vehicle components, including bumpers, grilles, battery trays, and underbody systems.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing plants to ensure successful product development and launch execution.

• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and vehicle performance targets.

• Manage BOM releases, engineering changes, and product documentation throughout the component lifecycle.

• Coordinate validation, durability, and functional testing activities while resolving engineering issues through root cause analysis.

• Drive continuous improvements focused on quality, cost reduction, weight optimization, and design efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive exterior systems development, design, and release engineering.

• Hands-on experience with CAD and product development tools including CATIA, 3DX, and Teamcenter Engineering (TCE).

• Strong knowledge of exterior vehicle systems, manufacturing processes, component packaging, and engineering release activities.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
