Your Role

Akkodis is seeking an Exterior Structural CAE Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. The ideal candidate will drive vehicle structural performance through advanced CAE analysis, supporting the design and validation of exterior components and systems.

Rate Range: $40/Hour to $42/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Exterior Structural CAE Engineer Responsibilities include:

• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate and validate the structural performance of vehicle exterior components and systems.

• Develop, modify, and maintain CAE models to support design decisions and ensure compliance with engineering requirements.

• Conduct durability, fatigue, and structural assessments, providing recommendations to improve product quality, performance, and cost.

• Collaborate with design, release, manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional CAE teams to develop effective engineering solutions.

• Analyze and interpret CAE and physical test results, correlating models and identifying feasible countermeasures to meet performance targets.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives by developing new simulation methodologies, conducting model audits, and sharing technical expertise across global teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline; master's or Ph.D. preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in Structural CAE, Durability, Fatigue Analysis, or Finite Element Analysis (FEA) within the automotive industry.

• Hands-on experience with CAE and meshing tools such as HyperMesh, ANSA, Abaqus, Nastran, NCODE, or similar FEA software.

• Strong understanding of linear static and non-linear dynamic analysis, material properties, weld analysis, and fatigue theory.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
