    Exterior Grounds Maintenance Specialist

    Picture your day starting with a quick huddle beside the trucks. The Maintenance Foreman reviews the plan, you load up the gear, and the crew rolls out to a mix of commercial and residential properties. As the morning light hits the turf, you guide a zero‑turn mower in clean, efficient passes, then switch to edging and string trimming for those crisp lines along sidewalks and curbs. Midday, you’re pruning shrubs, weeding beds, and refreshing mulch. Before heading back, you tidy the site, note any concerns for your supervisor, and finish by caring for the equipment—oil changes, blade swaps, cleaning mowers, and washing down trucks and trailers.

    Role Overview

    In this field-based role, you’ll perform routine landscape maintenance under the direction of a Maintenance Foreman. It’s active, outdoor work that rewards attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and strong teamwork.

    What You’ll Do

    • Operate walk-behind and zero-turn mowers to keep lawns sharp and healthy
    • Edge and string trim around curbs, sidewalks, and landscaped borders
    • Prune shrubs and maintain planting beds with a clean, finished look
    • Weed control and detailed property cleanups throughout each visit
    • Install mulch and support seasonal clean-up projects
    • Assist with routine equipment care: oil changes, blade replacement, and cleaning
    • Wash and maintain company trucks, trailers, and equipment
    • Communicate site conditions, issues, and maintenance needs to supervisors
    • Follow safety policies, procedures, and best practices every day
    • Bring a positive, professional attitude and collaborate effectively with your team

    Qualifications

    • Landscape maintenance experience is helpful, but we’ll train the right person
    • Ability to operate landscaping tools and equipment safely
    • Reliable, hard-working, and accountable
    • Team-oriented with clear, respectful communication
    • Valid driver’s license preferred (not required)

    Physical Demands

    • Stand, walk, and stay active for extended periods
    • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
    • Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and humidity
    • Comfort around dust, noise, insects, and uneven ground
    • Follow verbal and written instructions accurately
