Assist children with homework, provide snacks, and organize games and other enrichment activities. Apply principles of child development to daily interactions, activities, and behavior guidance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Collaborate with Site Coordinator to plan and implement lesson plans and daily activities, providing positive learning experiences for children. • Assist in maintaining classroom discipline by observing the activities of the children and maintaining order. • Give each child individual and special attention each day; respond to each child's particular needs and characteristics. Ensure that all children receive equal attention. • Maintain a safe and clean environment for children, perform light housekeeping, sweep floors, and wipe down tables and countertops after art/science activities, table activities, and snacks. • Read stories, sing songs, play music and prepare and organize materials for children s activities. • Report observed signs of illness or distress in children to the EDP Site Coordinator and/or EDP Site Lead, and assist in addressing the situation as appropriate. • Provide personal hygiene assistance to children; assist children for short periods of time to accommodate health or mobility needs. • Prepare age-appropriate learning materials, labels, charts, and displays to support daily activities and program goals. • Assist in planning, preparing, and serving simple nutritious snacks. • May be required to administer medications or other medical procedures after receiving the necessary training and authorization from a licensed healthcare professional. • Assist with homework and encourage positive homework habits using developmentally appropriate strategies. • Help to ensure that program policies and procedures are followed at the school site.

Education and Experience: • Education: a High School diploma or equivalent. • Experience: 6 months of experience working with children in a preschool, school age child enrichment program, childcare setting, or volunteer program for children preferred.
