SUMMARY  

Maintains a safe, clean working environment for all service employees and customers. Functions as a skilled­ level technician who is able to perform the essential duties of an Express Service Lube Technician  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  

• Drives vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls and parking lot as needed. Cleans oil storage tanks according to procedures.  
• Removes any old scrap parts from shop after checking with manager.  
• Uses proper eye, hand and body protection when using products that require protection. Change oil & filter in vehicles.  
• Check all fluids and top off as needed. Shop equipment maintenance.  
• Minor maintenance operations including tire rotation, belt replacement, wiper blade replacement, bulb replacement, etc.  
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.  
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.  
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.  
• Performs a 'Video' Multi-Point Inspection to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended. Video/Visually inspect... air filter, cabin filter, belts, hoses, tires, brakes & listed items on MPI  
• Communicates with Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.  
• Documents all work performed and recommended in X-Time on the RO on the correct line.  
• Participates in and maintains manufacturer-sponsored training programs, and events. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.  
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.  
• Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies Service Advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle Immediately.  
• Keeps shop area neat and clean.  
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.  
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.  
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
