Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm

OVERVIEW:

Working as Full-time Export Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing key elements of Fastenal¿s global export compliance initiatives. Specific tasks will include crafting company export Standard of Procedure (SOPs) and conducting compliance audits for authorized export groups within the company, and training distribution centers and internal corporate groups on compliance regulations and requirements. As well as, supporting field requests from branches attempting to export products out of the USA, setting specific cross-border shipment restrictions, managing duty drawback and anti-dumping and countervailing duty (ADVCD) recovery programs, and classifying product. In addition, you will perform research and qualify shipments to make sure they are compliant with United States Export rules and regulations, identify potential problems with shipments, and make recommendations on proper shipping methods and rules. Scope of the role will be global in nature, with the export compliance team actively supporting all business units outside the United States in the creation and management of their own specific export compliance programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

o Implementing and auditing internal export compliance controls

o Supporting duty drawback initiatives

o Performing export compliance training for key stakeholder groups

o Classifying Harmonized Tariff Schedule Codes (HTS) and Schedule B codes for SKUs

o Maintaining and updating product restriction databases

o Performing research for product restrictions

o Executing branch requests in a timely fashion

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

o 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work

o Prior Fastenal work experience

o Prior experience with International trade, logistics, or export/import compliance

o Excellent written and oral communication skills

o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite

o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities

o Work independently as well as in a team environment

o Learn and perform tasks in a fast paced environment

o Demonstrate strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills

o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented

o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork

o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

o Recognized trade compliance certifications (e.g. CCS, CCE, LCB)
