The Exponential Honors Program at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applications for a Program Coordinator to support the initiatives housed within the university's designated honors program.
The primary goal of Xavier Exponential is to provide exceptional Xavier students a transformative, "high-powered" honors experience through interdisciplinary, collaborative and innovative approaches to learning that also affect positive social change. Now in its ninth year, this honors experience includes curricular and co-curricular programming in following four areas: Enhanced Leadership, Scholarly Innovation, Community Engagement and Global Enrichment. A few benefits of the Exponential experience include specialized, select cohort courses, distinguished guests, a cultivated honors community, mini-grant opportunities for global learning, special access to speakers and thought leaders, individualized advising and selection for nationally competitive fellowships and awards, and signature retreats. The Program Coordinator's weekly tasks are to primarily manage these key components of the scholarly life of Xavier's Exponential honors students.
The Honors Program Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean for Exponential and assists in preparing, selecting and nominating students for fellowships, scholarships and competitive opportunities. The coordinator will also assist with monthly meetings and reports, managing grants and budgets, maintaining internal and external program communications, producing accurate reports and managing the office work flow. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Exponential Honors, housed in the College of Arts and Sciences.
The Program Coordinator will work with Exponential Scholars and other qualified students, faculty, advisors, and academic administrators to support Xavier Exponential, Fellowships Advising, Scholarly Development and Institutional Alliances. AA/EOE

Applicants for the Program Coordinator staff position must primarily process payments for vendors and suppliers, buy, collect, or deliver supplies and work independently on multiple projects. Applicants must also regularly exercise sound judgment in addressing program issues. The primary goal of Xavier Exponential is to provide exceptional Xavier students with a transformative, "high-powered" honors experience through interdisciplinary, collaborative, and innovative approaches to learning that also affect positive social change. This honors experience includes co-curricular programming in four areas: Scholarly Innovation, Professional Development, Community Engagement, and Global Enrichment. A few benefits of the Exponential experience include access to a first-year residential honors community, mini-grant opportunities for international travel, special access to speakers and distinguished guests, individualized advising for nationally competitive fellowships and awards, and signature retreats.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Description
The applicant for the position, therefore, must have prior experience in program administration or assistance, the ability to multitask, and interpersonal and communication skills. The applicant should also have experience making travel arrangements, such as booking flights, and cars, and making hotel and restaurant reservations. The applicant should be able to use the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Given the program's emphasis on interdisciplinary collaborative projects, excellent verbal and written communication, and organizational skills are highly preferred.
