    The Exponential Honors Program at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applications for a Program Coordinator to support the initiatives housed within the university's designated honors program.

    The primary goal of Xavier Exponential is to provide exceptional Xavier students a transformative, "high-powered" honors experience through interdisciplinary, collaborative and innovative approaches to learning that also affect positive social change. Now in its ninth year, this honors experience includes curricular and co-curricular programming in following four areas: Enhanced Leadership, Scholarly Innovation, Community Engagement and Global Enrichment. The Program Coordinator's weekly tasks are to primarily manage these key components of the scholarly life of Xavier's Exponential honors students.

    The Honors Program Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean for Exponential and assists in preparing, selecting and nominating students for fellowships, scholarships and competitive opportunities. The coordinator will also assist with monthly meetings and reports, managing grants and budgets, maintaining internal and external program communications, producing accurate reports and managing the office work flow. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Exponential Honors, housed in the College of Arts and Sciences.

    The Program Coordinator will work with Exponential Scholars and other qualified students, faculty, advisors, and academic administrators to support Xavier Exponential, Fellowships Advising, Scholarly Development and Institutional Alliances. AA/EOE

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in any field
    • Three to five years' experience in a responsible administrative support position that demonstrates knowledge of administrative methods, including managing budgets
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple projects and regularly exercise sound judgement in addressing program needs.
    • Ability to efficiently multitask and prioritize workload
    • Proven record of achieving goals
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
    • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe, Canva

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in higher education working with students and faculty across disciplines
    • Experience in competitive fellowship application and honors curriculum
    • Experience in global learning
    • Experience in undergraduate research and community engagement
    • Experience in multimedia: designing and updating web pages and social media
    • Experience in producing reports for internal and external stakeholders

    Applicants for the Program Coordinator staff position must primarily process payments for vendors and suppliers, buy, collect, or deliver supplies and work independently on multiple projects. Applicants must also regularly exercise sound judgment in addressing program issues.     Special Requirements Summary

    • Attend training sessions offered by Information Technology, Fiscal, Admissions and Human Resources office
    • Weekend and or/ evening hours required to support Xavier Exponential curricula and co-curricular programs
    • Ability to travel domestically and abroad to support program goals and students.

    The responsibilities of the position are:

    • Provide on-site supervision of events, oversee facilities use, provide support, and assist in problem resolution.
    • Process requisitions for supplies, personnel action forms, and follow-up with purchase orders, invoices, and deliveries.
    • Assist in communication of Exponential activities and manage the program calendar.
    • Assist in the coordination of recruitment, program applications, and selection for incoming cohorts in collaboration with the Exponential Advisory Council, the Office of Admissions, and the Office of Marketing and Communications
    • Limited travel to relevant conferences, and regional events for professional development.
    • Provide assistance monitoring expenditures and filing monthly expense reports.
    • Supervise Exponential student workers and interns and manage timesheets.
    • Manage communications with students and advisors regarding outcomes of proposals.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The applicant for the position, therefore, must have prior experience in program administration or assistance, the ability to multitask, and interpersonal and communication skills. The applicant should also have experience making travel arrangements, such as booking flights, and cars, and making hotel and restaurant reservations. The applicant should be able to use the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Given the program's emphasis on interdisciplinary collaborative projects, excellent verbal and written communication, and organizational skills are highly preferred.
