    Description

    THE COMPANY

Bolt Farm Treehouse exists to help couples slow down, reconnect, and strengthen their relationship through intentional, deeply restorative experiences. We are building a distinct brand centered on renewal, reconnection, and emotional transformation — creating beautiful, private environments that help people step out of the noise of everyday life and return to what matters most. More than a place to visit, Bolt Farm is designed to create meaningful change in the lives and relationships of the people we serve.

This is an exciting time to join Bolt Farm. As we continue to elevate the experience and build the team shaping what comes next, we are looking for people who want to do meaningful work inside a distinctive, growing company. For the right person, this is a chance to help build something special — a brand with real momentum, a clear mission, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact.

    YOUR TEAM

The spa is one of the most intimate and emotionally important parts of a Bolt Farm stay — and one of its strongest revenue drivers. The team delivers signature couples experiences in a nature-immersed Wellness Haven with mountaintop views, under new spa leadership with new standards and a new schedule model.

The book is full and growing: fall dates are near capacity, a fourth treatment room is being added, and the team is expanding to meet demand. Therapists here are supported by a dedicated Spa Attendant who owns laundry, linens, and product trays, and a Spa Concierge who owns everything outside the treatment — so your scope stays on the craft.

    YOUR ROLE

As an Expert Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), you set the standard. Guests arrive carrying stress and distance; they leave reconnected — and your treatments are the ones other therapists measure themselves against. You bring mastery-level bodywork, total consistency, and the presence that anchors a two-therapist couples treatment. For the right person, this is the Lead LMT seat: the top of our pay scale and a head-therapist leadership role as the team grows.

The role is built to protect both your craft and your body. Every treatment pays you for 90 minutes: 80 minutes of hands-on work that is never shortened or interrupted, plus 10 paid minutes to turn your room. You'll deliver up to five treatments a day, four days a week, with start times honored exactly. Nearly every treatment is a couple, so you'll usually work alongside a fellow therapist. You never sell, schedule, or collect payment — hands-on bodywork at a world-class standard is the entire job. And with the spa's widest operating window running 7 AM to 7 PM, there are no late-night shifts.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Deliver personalized massage treatments tailored to each guest's needs, preferences, and comfort level

    • Perform our signature couples experiences and approved modalities — Swedish, deep tissue, relaxation, aromatherapy, hot stone — within your training and licensure

    • Deliver our treatments exactly as written — our products, our soundtrack, our room settings, no personal variations

    • Consult with guests before each service on pressure, focus areas, contraindications, and desired outcomes

    • Protect the calm of the room: presence, warmth, and consistency in every session

    • Keep your treatment space spotless and fully prepared, with your Attendant's support

    • Share wellness recommendations only when they genuinely serve the guest — the Concierge owns retail

    • Follow all Tennessee massage therapy regulations, sanitation standards, draping protocols, and Bolt Farm service standards

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • An active Tennessee massage therapy license in good standing — or an active license in another state (see "Licensed Outside Tennessee?" at the end of this posting)

    • Extensive professional massage experience and mastery-level bodywork; the desire to mentor and lead is a strong plus.

    • Availability for the fixed 4-day schedule offered, including at least one weekend day and holidays

    • Physical capacity for five 80-minute treatments a day, four days a week

    • Ability to work onsite in Whitwell, TN

    NICE TO HAVE (PLUS)

    • Luxury spa leadership, trainer, or lead-therapist experience is a strong plus.

    • Luxury spa, resort, or wellness retreat experience is a plus

    • Training in specialty modalities such as prenatal, hot stone, or couples massage

    • Experience serving couples or special-occasion guests

    COMPENSATION

Your rate is based on skill and guest experience — not years of experience. Lead LMTs earn the top of our published scale.

    • $120 per 80-minute treatment at hire — the top base rate on our scale and the highest employed-LMT rate in Tennessee.

    • Performance bonus tied directly to guest experience (NPS): earn +$10 per treatment at an NPS of 4.80–4.89 and +$20 per treatment at 4.90 or above — applied to every treatment you deliver, on top of your base rate.

    • Up to 20 treatments a week — roughly $120,000 a year, up to $140,000 with performance bonuses.

    • Paid for 90 minutes of work per treatment: 80 hands-on, 10 to turn the room.

    • Paid weekly.

    • Tips are yours to keep. Guest packages include a built-in service fee, but if a guest chooses to tip you extra — in cash or added to their bill — 100% of it goes to you.

    • No commission, no retail quota, no upsell. Guest experience is the only variable.

    • W-2 employee.

Your growth path — four tiers, every step raising your rate on every treatment:

    • Tier 1 — Entry-Level: $75 base per treatment, up to $95 with the guest-experience bonus — $75,000 – $95,000 per year

    • Tier 2 — Intermediate: $100 base per treatment, up to $120 with the guest-experience bonus — $100,000 – $120,000 per year

    • Tier 3 — Senior: $110 base per treatment, up to $130 with the guest-experience bonus — $110,000 – $130,000 per year

    • Tier 4 — Lead LMT: $120 base per treatment, up to $140 with the guest-experience bonus — $120,000 – $140,000 per year YOU START HERE

Annual figures assume 20 treatments per week over 50 weeks. Your starting tier is assessed on your experience and a hands-on practical during the interview process — full bonus and tier details are covered with your manager when you join.

    SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

    • You work the same 4 days every week, on the same shift, assigned when you accept the offer.

    • A typical day: arrive at 7 AM for prep, first treatment at 8 AM, and the last treatment of the day begins between 5:40 and 7 PM.

    • Up to 5 treatments per day. Your appointment times are set in advance and never move — no surprise add-ons, no shifting starts.

    • The company builds the schedule. No week-to-week availability submissions, no choosing guests, no adjusting your own start times. Swaps and time off go through your manager in our system.

    • 3 consistent days off, every week.

    • Weekend and holiday availability is required.

    • A fifth day is overflow work — offered, never owed.

Our system works the way it works. If that structure sounds like relief, you will do the best work of your career here. If it sounds like a cage, this is not your role.

    GOOD TO KNOW

    • We don't offer relocation assistance at this time — many of our therapists relocate from out of state, but the move is on you.

    • Continuing education and license renewal costs are the therapist's responsibility.

LICENSED OUTSIDE TENNESSEE? HERE’S HOW THE TRANSFER WORKS

Not licensed in Tennessee yet? Don't let that stop you from applying — many of our therapists come from out of state, and the transfer is faster and cheaper than most people expect. Here's the short version:

    • You likely qualify if your education hours meet Tennessee's standard and you passed the MBLEx or NCBTMB exam — or if you've held NCBTMB certification with active practice for 5+ years.

    • What it takes: a TN Board of Massage Licensure application (~$280 in state fees), a fingerprint background check (~$38), a 5-hour course on Tennessee massage statutes and rules, and documentation of 10 ethics hours.

    • Timeline: about 6 weeks of board processing. If we extend you an offer, we start the application with you right away so you’re licensed before your first day.

    • The cost is the therapist's responsibility, but we'll walk you through every step — you'll never be guessing what comes next.

If you want a quiet, easy spa job where "good enough" passes and you set your own hours, this is not your seat. If you take pride in making people feel genuinely restored — and you want one of the highest per-treatment rates in Tennessee, your body protected, and three consistent days off every week — this may be your seat.
