EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING COORDINATOR

Position Summary:

The Coordinator, Experiential Learning supports the administration and continuous improvement of experiential learning initiatives that connect academic learning with career readiness and professional development. The position coordinates the College''s student employment program, supports experiential learning opportunities and related programming, and collaborates with campus and community partners to expand student access to applied learning experiences. The Coordinator serves as an operational resource for students, supervisors, faculty, and staff while helping advance institutional goals related to student success, retention, and career preparation.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Student Employment Administration

• Coordinate the day-to-day administration of the College''s student employment program, including operational processes, documentation, communications, and reporting activities.
• Serve as a resource for students, supervisors, and campus partners regarding student employment policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and effective employment practices.
• Administer processes related to student employment and Federal Work Study opportunities, including monitoring compliance with applicable federal regulations and institutional requirements.
• Advise students on obtaining, maintaining, and succeeding in student employment positions and support their professional growth through employment experiences.

Experiential Learning Programs

• Support the development, implementation, and assessment of experiential learning initiatives that expand student participation in internships, student employment, job shadowing, community service, service-learning, and other applied learning opportunities.
• Collaborate with campus and community partners to increase awareness of experiential learning opportunities and connect students with meaningful experiences that support academic and career development.
• Identify and help address barriers that may affect student participation in experiential learning programs and services.
• Coordinate experiential learning events, workshops, and educational programs that support student engagement and career readiness.

Operations & Communications

• Maintain and support systems, procedures, and operational processes related to student employment and experiential learning programs to promote efficiency and consistency.
• Develop and maintain program resources, training materials, communications, and web content that support students, supervisors, and campus partners.
• Coordinate budget administration and purchasing activities for the Center for Career Exploration & Development in collaboration with the Director.
• Maintain accurate program records and documentation to support operational needs and institutional requirements.

Collaboration & Student Support

• Partner with faculty, staff, Human Resources, Student Financial Services, the Registrar''s Office, and other stakeholders to support student employment and experiential learning initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with campus departments, community organizations, and employers that provide experiential learning opportunities for students.
• Assist in the development and delivery of training and educational resources for student employees and supervisors, including onboarding, supervision practices, and career readiness development.
• Foster a welcoming, student-centered environment that supports student learning, reflection, professional growth, and success.

Assessment & Continuous Improvement

• Collect, maintain, analyze, and report participation, employment, and program data to support assessment, planning, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Monitor program effectiveness and contribute to reporting activities related to student employment and experiential learning initiatives.
• Remain informed regarding emerging practices in experiential education, student employment, career readiness, and workforce development and apply relevant knowledge to program improvement.
• Participate in departmental, divisional, and institutional committees, planning efforts, and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Associate''s degree and relevant professional experience in higher education, experiential education, career services, student affairs, human resources, workforce development, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience coordinating programs, services, or initiatives that support student success, career development, or experiential learning.
• Ability to learn and apply policies, procedures, and compliance requirements related to student employment, including Federal Work Study, I-9 compliance, or related employment processes.
• Experience utilizing enterprise systems or databases such as Oracle, Workday, Banner, Handshake, or similar platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate projects and processes, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, maintain accurate records, and documentation.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting others, with the ability to foster development, provide feedback, and promote effective performance.
• Commitment to supporting student success and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Experience coordinating student employment, internships, experiential learning, workforce development programs, or related programs.
• Familiarity with career development concepts and NACE Career Readiness Competencies.
• Experience developing training programs, workshops, or educational resources.
• Experience assessing program effectiveness and using data to inform decision-making.

Work Environment:

Work is primarily performed in an office setting and requires regular use of a computer and other standard office equipment. The position requires regular movement between campus locations for meetings, programs, events, and collaboration with campus partners. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support programs, events, workshops, and other position responsibilities.

Hiring Range:

$22.60-$26.45 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
