Position: Full-time or part-time, on-site

Schedule: Saturday availability required

Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional window tint installation experience

Compensation: Experienced installers start at $20+ per hour, based on demonstrated skills. Guaranteed hourly base or earned commissions, whichever is greater for each pay period, plus a six-month retention bonus subject to eligibility requirements.

Black Optix Tint – Spring is hiring experienced window tint technicians to help build our growing shop serving Spring, The Woodlands, and Greater Houston.

We’re looking for installers who deliver clean, consistent work, care for customers’ vehicles and property, and enjoy being part of a team. If you have at least two years of professional automotive or architectural window tinting experience, we’d like to hear from you.

You don’t need experience in every service. Bring a strong foundation in tinting and a willingness to learn, teach, and contribute.

What we offer

• Guaranteed hourly base or earned commissions, whichever is greater, providing a pay floor with opportunities to earn more.

• Six-month retention bonus: Earn a retention bonus after six months of continuous employment, subject to agreed-upon standards for installation quality, reliability, teamwork, and overall performance. The bonus amount and eligibility requirements will be provided in writing at hiring.

• Cross-training in additional services, including architectural film, PPF, and wraps.

What you’ll do

• Install automotive window tint and/or residential and commercial window film within your experience and training.

• Prepare glass and surrounding surfaces thoroughly for clean installations.

• Measure, cut, fit, and finish film accurately using appropriate tools and techniques.

• Protect customer vehicles, interiors, and property throughout the installation.

• Inspect completed work for contamination, edges, bubbles, and other quality issues.

• Explain film care and curing expectations to customers.

• Communicate job progress, materials needs, and concerns with the manager and coworkers.

• Keep tools, materials, and installation areas clean and organized.

• Learn additional services and assist teammates as trained and qualified.

What you’ll bring

• At least two years of professional automotive or architectural window tint installation experience.

• The ability to independently complete quality installations in your area of experience.

• Attention to detail, consistent workmanship, and effective time management.

• Reliability and professional communication with customers and coworkers.

• A willingness to cross-train, accept feedback, and share your skills.

• A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

• The ability to perform hands-on installation work, with reasonable accommodation as needed.

PPF and/or ceramic coating experience is especially valuable. Experience with vinyl wraps, detailing, car audio, or automotive accessories is also welcome. Experience in both automotive and architectural tint is welcome but not required.

How compensation works

You’ll receive the greater of your guaranteed hourly base earnings or your earned commissions for each pay period.

Your base provides a pay floor, while commissions give you the opportunity to earn more as your production increases. These amounts are compared—not added together. Your hourly rate, commission rate, and calculation terms will be agreed upon in writing before you start. Any applicable overtime will be handled separately.

The six-month retention bonus is additional compensation, subject to the eligibility requirements provided at hiring.

Schedule

Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Saturday availability is required. Your regular schedule and expected weekly hours will be discussed during the hiring process.
