Job Position: EXPERIENCED VOICE & DATA TECHNICIAN

Location: Austin, TX 78758

Pay Rate: $20 $25/hour

We are hiring an Experienced Voice & Data Technician to join our low-voltage team in Austin. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with structured cabling, network infrastructure, and commercial low-voltage installations.

Responsibilities:

Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A cabling
Install and terminate fiber optic and coaxial cabling as needed
Install patch panels, racks, cable trays, J-hooks, and cable management systems
Perform cable testing, labeling, certification, and documentation
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and low-voltage drawings
Troubleshoot connectivity, termination, and cabling issues
Perform punch-downs and RJ45 terminations
Install and organize network racks and telecommunications equipment
Work on commercial construction and service projects
Maintain clean, professional, and code-compliant installations

Qualifications:

Previous experience in voice/data or structured cabling
Strong knowledge of commercial low-voltage installations
Experience using cable testers and certification equipment
Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and active job sites
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred
Able to work independently and as part of a team
