    Description

    An AM Law 200 is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates attorney to join a Philadelphia Estates & Trusts practice. The role focuses on sophisticated estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, as well as tax and transactional matters involving closely held businesses, M&A, restructurings, and succession planning.

    Key qualifications:
    - J.D. required; LL.M. in Taxation preferred
    - Pennsylvania Bar admission
    - 7–10 years of experience in estate planning and federal tax law
    - Experience with M&A or closely held business matters
    - Strong knowledge of federal income, estate, and gift tax rules
    - Excellent drafting, analytical, communication, and client-management skills
    - Ability to handle multiple complex matters independently

    Primary responsibilities:
    - Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners on estate planning, wealth transfer, and trust administration
    - Create tax-efficient estate and business succession plans
    - Develop and use trusts, family partnerships, and charitable structures
    - Collaborate with corporate and transactional teams on M&A and tax matters
    - Coordinate estate and income tax planning around business sales and other liquidity events
    - Draft and review complex trusts, wills, operating agreements, and related documents
    - Manage client relationships and work with accountants, advisors, and other professionals
