Experienced Tax Associate

A boutique accounting firm based in downtown Santa Barbara is seeking a full-time, experienced CPA to join the team! Our firm specializes in high-level tax planning and tax preparation for small businesses and individuals in various industries. Our clients include lawyers, doctors, consultants, models/social media influencers, real estate investors, architects, and other professionals.

The ideal candidate will hold her or his CPA license and will have at least 5 years of direct experience with Lacerte and QuickBooks. He or she needs to be an effective communicator by email, over the phone, and in-person. The candidate will need to be organized, manage his or her time well, and should be able to work independently.

Responsibilities will include:

• On-going tax planning, including preparing quarterly tax payments
• Identifying and recommending tax strategies that align with our clients' goals
• Working closely with clients to obtain relevant tax information
• Reviewing clients' financial statements and previous tax returns
• Preparing year-end adjusting journal entries/closing entries for business clients
• Preparing and reviewing complex annual Federal and state tax returns (1040s, 1065s, 1120Ss, 1120s, and 1041s)
• Advising on other tax matters important to clients (retirement options, tax-saving opportunities, tax notice resolution, etc.)
