Full-Time Experienced Estimator for Underground Utilities/Pipeline in Irvine

Join T.E. Roberts, Inc., an established underground pipeline contractor serving public agencies, municipalities, developers, and private clients throughout Southern California.

About the Role:

We are looking for a confident, collaborative, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Estimator.  Your role will be pivotal in preparing concise full-scope cost estimates for public works and private construction projects. You'll be responsible for ensuring that all financial and technical aspects are thoroughly and accurately accounted for.


What You’ll Do:

• Review plans and specifications
• Perform quantity takeoffs
• Price pipe, fittings, structures, excavation, bedding, backfill, paving, etc.
• Develop labor and equipment costs
• Contact suppliers/subcontractors
• Visit jobsites and attend prebid meetings
• Build estimates
• Review and identify scope gaps and exclusions
• Prepare the final bid numbers
• Maintain bid documentation

What we’re Looking for:

• 3+ years’ experience in preconstruction/estimating or operations in underground construction, with a focus on pipeline projects.
• Proficiency in bidding software.
• Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail to independently estimate pipeline work. 
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with an ability to work effectively as a team.
• Ability to present information clearly and respond effectively to management, clients, and customers.
• Previous experience with Public Works and Private projects

Compensation: $150,000+ Depending on experience
