Full-Time | $50,000–$70,000 per year, including commission
Ray Catena BMW of Westchester is seeking an experienced Parts Counterperson with 2–3 years of automotive parts experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of automotive parts, parts ordering and sourcing, and dealership parts operations. This position requires someone who can work independently, confidently assist customers and service technicians, and efficiently manage parts inquiries, orders, special orders, and inventory support in a fast-paced environment.
A strong commitment to customer service, accuracy, communication, and teamwork is essential.
Manage the full parts sales process, from initial customer inquiry through order fulfillment and invoicing
Assist customers and service staff in identifying and sourcing the correct automotive parts
Use parts catalogs, computer systems, and other resources to accurately identify and locate parts
Coordinate with the Parts Manager to locate and procure out-of-stock items
Process and track special orders, ensuring timely follow-up and delivery
Communicate proactively with customers regarding order status and parts arrival
Support inventory organization, stocking, and general warehouse duties as needed
Maintain accurate parts records and organized inventory
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Collaborate with the Parts and Service teams to ensure efficient department operations
Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations
2–3 years of previous automotive parts counter or dealership parts experience required
Strong working knowledge of automotive parts and parts identification
Experience working directly with customers and/or automotive service technicians
Ability to accurately identify, locate, order, and sell automotive parts
Strong commitment to customer service and customer satisfaction
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced dealership environment
Professional demeanor, dependable work ethic, and strong attention to detail
Basic computer proficiency required; experience with dealership or parts-management systems is a plus
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift 30+ pounds regularly
Comfortable using material-handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
